My point still stands.
What has happened to this industry? Everything has to be advertised as "Better than something else" rather than "Worth buying on it's own merit". What ever happened to selling people games through gameplay and not PR? What happened to respecting your peers rather than sniping at them at every opportunity?
Time to say what I see now, I might be wrong and please correct me if I am, but this is how I see it.
As soon as MS stepped into the arena, thin...
That's a good point. There's no way that thing would be able to track single finger movement. That's why you need buttons.
While I definitely agree that pretty much everyone here is a hypocrite when it comes to... anything to do with the rival system, let's not forget that the Wii brought motion controlled games on to the scene a good few years ago and all Natal is doing is removing the controller, hence the buttons, hence the higher level of control. Having said that, the tech is obviously far more advanced and capable of much better motion tracking.
This certainly won't replace controllers for hard...
That does look pretty good but EyePet was showing off this sort of stuff earlier this year but people are completely ignoring that.
It'll be good to see how this whole thing develops but I think it would be improved if you could do it sitting down. Playing a game while standing up is a bit of a pain. It probably can work while sat down (can't see any reason why not) so it's probably nothing to worry about.
One other issue, though, is that what he was doing with his h...
How on earth are you meant to play Burnout by waving your hands around??? I'm sure they've figured it out but I can't see it personally.
Without Hideo Kojima, MGS would be nothing. imo ofc.
This game may well turn out to be pretty good but it won't be as good as a proper MGS game. imo ofc.
The only problems I really have with it going multi plat are the fact that the graphics probably won't be as good (very minor issue) and MS will be so smug about this for the next 5 years that they're not going to shut up, and it's not as if they were particularly quiet before it was announced. imo ofc.
Wow, that actually looked fantastic! I was expecting "Great graphics... for PSP" But that is just "Great graphics in general! Good stuff Polyphony!
I don;t think they'll change it. Sony said the Go would be the same price as the original at launch which was also £180.
I really want this and will desperately try to justify buying one at release.
TBH, Microsofts big announcement, just like last year, was for a multi plat game. Sony really brought the exclusives and new IPs and for that reason I'd agree with this site.
You would expect pro sony articles from a site with PS3 in the name though.
I will be getting 2 codes. One from inFAMOUS and one straight from Sony cos I'm an Official Beta Trialist!
The mouth, nose and eyes all seem to be in roughly the same place on this face as Raiden's? Erm, I thought all faces had eyes, noses and mouths in pretty much the same place. XD
You might be right, but the style of the picture is nothing like MGS's style so I am doubtful.
@ 1.3: Cribbage doesn't seem like such a bad alternative tbh.
Anyway, if all Kojima is giving to his loyal MGS fanbase is some PSP title that could never live up to a proper console game then I'm not impressed. MGS going multiplat has consequences beyond pleasing/upsetting the fanboys.
I personally had absolutely no issue with the KZ2 controls. I'm not a big FPS player so the differences may not have been as obvious to me as they would be for an FPS die hard, but all that proves is that the controls weren't rubbish, they were just different. And in fact, the one thing that really appealed to me about the game was the silky, realistic animation of your character as he moves. The camera sways and judders exactly how you'd expect it to and it really helped draw me in.
...
I do remember this being a big thing a while ago. Well, everyone I knew who was an MGS fan was talking about it.
And the pic looks just like him. I'm honestly surprised no one picked up on this earlier.
I think there is some truth behind this actually.
Are there any? I haven't heard of them.
They can't add another stick until they release PSP2. As this is just a different version of PSP1, adding another stick would mean everyone who has an original PSP would be able to play the new games because they are missing a stick.
If this was PSP2 then I'd be agreeing with you, but it's not so I'm not.
@Milo Garret
"The game forces you to be either all good, or all bad, there's no middle way,"
Erm, you haven't played the demo have you... There are 3 'shades' of good and 3 of evil. That's a total of 6 options, which means you are wrong.
You see that, very civilised. The only bad word he had to say about Microsoft was that they may struggle to have complex shooter games due to the lack of buttons and that Natal seems to have difficulty registering z-axis movements. Apart from that, he had nothing bad to say and certainly wasn't slating them.
If that was Mr Greenburg talking, I expect there would've been a bit more bile involved.
